how to remove a charge that has been paid

I have a charge on my house for about £1100.00 which was paid off ( have letter from the solicitors) but the charge has not been removed,
how can i remove this.

Hi

Normally creditors should advise the land registry the charge has been discharged.

However, to have it removed you should apply for a Certificate of Satisfaction from the Court to show you have paid off the County Court Judgement. You can find out about the process and form here. The Court will want to see evidence you have made the payment.

You can then register the Certificate with the Land Registry and ask them to remove the Charge.

However, first ask the creditor if they have notified the Land Registry that the debt has been discharged. If they have the Land Registry may allow you to have it removed.
