Can my partners income be taken into account when applying for a mortgage?
Many thanks for your comment. The situation is I have my own property. My partner has no property and no name on mine. We need to move to a bigger house and ideally their wage counting towards a new mortgage would be ideal. However not sure if this is possible? I do have a Large deposit £70-£80k, Which I’m hoping will act as an assurance to any mortgage company. Which is potentially a 35%-40% Deposit.
I am not sure what your question is regarding this situation, however the following information may point you in the right direction. If you are trying to find information about the effect your partner may have on a future mortgage application then it may be that your question is better placed with a mortgage adviser. If your partner owns a share of your existing property then it may also mean that there is a need to find out how much of the equity will need to be paid into the bankruptcy when the house sells.
