Bailiffs

6 years ago - Posted by

So the council have now taken me to court for the business rates even though there is evidence that these are not my debt. They say the landlord can do repairs so i am still liable. But surely if he changes the shopfront and puts a staircase in the shop it is not right. But they won’t stop any court action and have now told me that they are sending the bailiffs to my home address. I have stated i don’t own the property and i have no savings nothing to my name as everything is in my husbands name. I am so worried but they won’t listen to me. What can i do?

If you have evidence that the debt is not yours to pay then you need to take legal advice to help you dispute this rather than debt advice.
