Statute barred debts
If you haven’t heard anything from JB Debt Recovery or the Zinc Group since the take-over in 2012, then it’s very likely your account has become statute barred.
A statute barred debt can be considered cancelled and removed from your account altogether.
When a debt reaches 5-years-old in Scotland or 6-years-old in England, without written correspondence or any payments made, and where the creditor hasn’t raised a County Court Judgement to try and recover the money, then the debt will be cancelled.
