last tenent moved out 4 yr ago+is taking out new loans at our addess, does this affect us? |

Hello,
we live in a rented flat and the previous tenent moved out 4 years ago but is still managing to take out loans.
The other day my partner opened a letter, not looking at the front and found a debt collection letter for a loan taken out this year!
We have phoned them and informed them she no longer lives here. But it is now getting fustrating having to keep on calling these companies before they send in the debt collectors.
We are a bit confused on how she is able to do this as she has not been on the electrol roll since 2008 when I was able to register us and she will have no current bills for our address.
Does her actions affect our credit rating and is there away we can stop our address from being used?

The actions of a previous tenant living at your current address cannot affect your credit rating. The best way of dealing with the situation is simply to write ‘return to sender’, ‘no longer at this address’ on the envelope.
