My stepson has recently moved out.Will calls from debt companys effect our credit/assets

He gave up his property then moved in with us Although he moved out of our house we constantly get calls/letters for him from companys wanting (we think) money.Will this effect our credit rating and or are we likely to get a knock on the door !!!

It shouldn't affect your credit rating.

Credit rating are based on individuals not addresses. The links below are from the main credit reference agencies Experian and Equifax

If a mistake has happened and your credit file has become linked to someone you can get your finances disassociated.

It sounds like your son needs some debt advice and he can get it for free from Debt Advice Foundation. I'd encourage him to give us a call.
