I owe my ex boss £870 as I didnt pay my lease agreement on a car to drive as a taxi

I should have paid my ex boss £115 a week over 7 weeks but I didnt and kept the money and spent it and hoped he would forget about it. Unfortunatley I wrote it on a note i pushed through his letterbox and in text messages that I owe him the money and want to make arrangements. I dont think I should pay him cause I really dont want to. What should I do and what at worse can he do to get the money. All I own is my flat I live in and now work for another taxi firm.

Re: I owe my ex boss £870 as I didnt pay my lease agreement ...

If you owe money to someone in the UK, they are able to make a claim in the local County/Sheriff Court for the money. If they can prove that you owe the money, the court can make a Judgment against you, which can be enforced in a number of ways including bailiffs. If you cannot afford to re-pay at the rate you agreed with him, you may be able to contact him and make an arrangement to re-pay over a longer period.
