can i claim compensation for mistaken identity???

basically there another man with the same name as me that used to run our local pub but he left due to money problems now one of the companys that he owe's money to has found me by mistake and i have been hounded for 16 months now and iv had car seizure letters and people knockin my moms door...im 25 and now i own my own house im worried they'll find my new address and come there..iv had a ccj put against my name without even bein told to go to court and now im being chased by the high court...my life is slowly becomin a nightmare because of sumone's stupidity.....wat chance do i stand

You need to contact the two credit referencing agencies, Equifax and Experion, and ask for a copy of your credit record. You can then highlight which of the false debts have been registered against your name and ask to be financially disconnected from this person. You will need to seek legal advice on how to reverse the CCJ that has been issued incorrectly.
