Advice needed for large loan stolen by ex-partner attached to my house which is now at risk |

My ex-partner and I entered into a joint loan taken to cover an existing loan to get the % and payments down. The relationship ended soon after but the new loan came through the money was not used to pay off the previous loan as planned and my ex-partner took the lot and spent it on ???
I have taken this case to Court and got a court order for him to continue to pay the monthly payments of this new loan whilst I manage ( just about ) to cover the mortgage and previous loan.
Problem is he has now lost his job so as far as the bank is concerned I am resposible for his payments which I can never afford ( and don't see why I should ) but my house is now at risk.
Surely there is some sort of criminal offence committed here - my solicitors say this is a Civil matter and will cost a lot of money to take it to Court again. Can anyone offer any sort of advice?

Your solicitor is right this is a civil matter not a criminal matter. To continue to pursue this through the courts will be very costly.
