If your current account is held by one of the creditors named in the IVA you should set up an account with another bank before starting the IVA process. Be careful not to open your new account with a bank that is part of the same group as the account which is to be closed. HSBC and First Direct are part of the same group, as are the Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, and Nat West and RBS.
