There are certain positions of employment where you would not be considered if you had and IVA. However, the RAF CAREERS website www.raf.mod.uk/uk/careers/canjoin/eligibilitychecks.cfm has a section on "Eligibility Checks". It states here that any candidates who declare themselves to be an undischarged bankruptis ineligible to apply to join the RAF. But, does not exclude on the basis of being in an IVA.
As there are a number of different positions available within the RAF (this may change) and you do not specify what area you are looking to enter into, I would definitely check it out fully before you finalise the IVA. I am sure their careers officer will be able to give you up to date information at that time.
There are of course, other solutions available to you,so please do take advice from a debt advisor who will be able to ascertain if an IVA is the best solution for you.
