married and wanting a dro |
im married and now out of work, i get no income whatsoever as income support or jobseekers wont pay nothing as my wife worked part time so is expected to pay for me......now im wantint to go into a dro, is it based on her money or mine? (being that i have none!!) she has her own debts and things to pay for so doesnt have money to live nevermind look after me!!!!
Re: married and wanting a dro
In order to be eligible for a DRO (Debt Relief Orer) you must have less than £50 per month disposable income (income left over for creditors once your bills and living expenses have been paid for). You will need to list your total household income and expenditure on the DRO application as you do not have any income of your own so you cannot pay for your bills without your wife’s income being taken into account. Your local CAB will be able to refer you to an approved intermediary who will be able to advise you on the full eligibility criteria for a DRO and also process a DRO on your behalf.
