Re: how do i get my credit rating back?

Ideally in life, if you can learn to budget and save for the things that you need, your credit rating will not seem that important. However, do bear in mind that every time you apply for credit, this will have an affect on your credit rating.

A good starting point for you would be to look into opening a credit union account. You can find out more information about these here http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp_a=sp1002a2c3&sp_f=ISO-8859-1&sp_t=con...

Once you start saving in a credit union, they will allow you to apply for a small loan and you have a greater chance of being successful with having some savings with them. The interest rate will also be much more reasonable than any other lender to people with a poor credit rating. By saving and obtaining a loan through a credit union and then maintaining a regular monthly payment, may help enahnce your credit rating.

Of course, you could always just apply for a credit card with a very low credit limit (most likely around £250, the interest rate may be higher but if you spend a little and pay the full balance every month you should not incur any interest at all and again this will help to increase your credit rating.

Its always worth having a chat with your bank, they may be able to advise you further about your credit rating.

Lenders look at the risk factor, how likely you are to repay, will they make a profit and will even view somone with no credit at all as a risk.
