signing a trade account am i liable for debt


i signed as a director of a limited company a trade account application form,company now insolvent creditor chasing me personaly for the debt,can they do this?threatening small claims court,small print at the bottom were i signed was unfairly worded in my opinion and i wasnt made aware of this being a personal guarantee and it was never witnessed.

Unfortunately, if you signed to say that you would personally guarantee the debt you may be liable. If you feel that you were not properly informed of the guarantee, you could approach Trading Standards for their advice.
