CCJ because of inadequacies of leading car insurance company |

My wife now has a CCJ against her because a leading car insurance company ignored letters from a third party insurance company when a claim was being addressed. The matter went to the courts but the insurance company still ignored the letters. My wife then received a judgement from the court for almost £5,000. The courts said that the judgement will go to the defendant, not the insurance company even though she was fully comp insured and all the proceedings were occuring (or not in this case) without my wifes knowledge. The judgement gave her 30 days to pay in full or receive a CCJ and debt collectors. The insurance company, may I add again that it is a UK leading car insurance company, have said they will 'try' to get this over turned but cannot guarantee it.
The implications of having a CCJ are concerning for future finacial decisions.
Does anyone know where we stand on this? The insurance company offered a measly £100, most of which will be spent on the daily update calls we make

You should seek legal advice on this issue. In the meantime, if the CCJ outlines a monthly required payment it is important to maintain the payments if possible to avoid defaulting on the CCJ.
