Wife may not know about husband's bankruptcy

My friend has gone personally bankrupt and is the sole owner of his house, which is now being transferred to the official receiver.I am concerned that his wife may not know what is going on and he has previously lost a house to creditors many years ago. Is it likely that she will be notified by someone, I don't want to be the one that tells her

I think you are right not to get involved.
Bankruptcy is a public procedure and his bankruptcy will be listed on the Insolvency Service website. It may also appear in a local newspaper. I think it would be pretty difficult for him to keep his bankruptcy secret.
