how will my wife be affected by me going bankrupt ?

i owe debt from credit card and owe the tax man. i think it will be best for me to go bankrupt. the mortgage is in my name only but some of the household bills ie gas electric are in joing names. how will my wife be affected financialy as she contributes towards the house and she works?

No one can answer this question without a full fact find. Your wife's earnings will be taken into account as will her potential share of any equity in your property - this may be a good thing as it may reduce the amount of money available to your Trustee in bankruptcy. It can be a very complicated matter.
