bankruptcy and the future. is there one?

My husband and i are to be declared bankrupt at the end of the month, we have 3 children and will lose the house. we are looking into renting before the bankruptcy is declared but there is nothing available. what will happen if we try and rent once the house is taken off of us or are we then able to apply to be housed by the local authority? will we be deemed to have made ouselves homeless and therefore not be eligible? this is worrying me hugely and i need to know where to turn. please help

Firstly, more than 100,000 people will be in the same situation as you this year. So you are certainly not alone.
