what is classed as a 1st visit from a bailiff? |
i have receved 3 letters from the same bailiffs, and every time they are just hand posted through the door. The bailiff does'nt knock, i know because ive been in every time. i'm told to phone the bailiff in these letters , but i have no means of doing so. i have written to their head office, who just tell me to contact this bailiff, and all i have is a phone number, i'm quite happy to arange payments, but without them knocking how can i. i received a letter this morning at 7.40am (on a saturday) stating that i have to contact this bailiff today or he will enter my premises and remove goods- even in my absence. was the 1st letter i received, 1st contact or does 1st contact have to be face to face, or at least over the phone?

Are you sure that it is a bailiff? I ask because a bailiff would usually knock long and loud. Also if it is a bailiff there is generally a set of terms and fees on the back of the form they post.
Which company is it? Who are they collecting on behalf of? It is generally council tax.
