are the bailiffs alowed to take my 2 year old sons belongings?

i just want to know if we do have a bailiff come in are they allowed to take my sons things, like bed and toys. i dodnt care if they take mine, but scared they will take my babies. i have been paying my council tax off each month to the bailiff, min £100 a month i have been giving him, and he said that was fine, but now even thou been making payments, they are wanting £800 by a months time. i got rent to pay, i cant lose the roof over our heads for this. we got behind due to an opearation i had to have and my partner had to take time off work to look after our son, as all our family live far away. just scared there gona take our things. i have had the bailiff round in person only once, even thou ive been making payments. just scared and dont make sense. we are giving him as much as we can without losing our home. if we give him more we wont be able to pay rent

Re: are the bailiffs alowed to take my 2 year old sons ...

You have been making regular payments so there is no need for the bailiff to threaten to take goods.

You need to complain about this to the council, to the bailiff company, then to their regulatory body - and preferably to your local councillor and your MP. You can get face to face advice from your local CAB who will be able to get you their contact details.

I spoke to someone yesterday - who could have been you - who said they didn't think they would bother to complain. That's why bailiffs continue act as a law unto themselves.

The reason i mention your MP is that there is legislation in progress to increase the powers of bailiffs. If you use Facebook there is a group called "No to extra bailiff powers"
