Make Debt Management FREE

Debt Management Plans are not a formal solution that requires you or your creditor to register the plan centrally. This means when when statements of levels of bankruptcy are made highlighting those in severe debt, those in Debt Management Plans are not taken into account, which is worrying news considering estimates vary from 300,000 to 700,000 people.

What's even more worrying is:

  • almost half of those (48%) pay for their debt solution, when there are free alternatives
  • a fifth of people on debt management plans will take more than 10 years to pay them off
  • over 10 years, average charges add almost 20% to the cost and 21 months to the repayment period
  • most debt management companies to not declare their fee structure upfront and certainly don't tell you that there are free alternatives
